Great interview with Wade! Every experienced war photographer has the same advice: “Don’t do it!”
I’m sad I wasn’t in Zagreb to see you guys but we’ll have to arrange a visit to Ljubljana soon! Cheers!
We met in Dubrovnik in your gallery. I told you I loved the exposition. I came twice…
At this time,I had just finished reading a thousand splendid suns by Khaled hosseini and it was strange to see the photos of Afghanistan as an echo.
Walking in Dubrovnik full of turists, trying to feel and understand this city and knowing the very recent history, I really felt something was missing. I could not understand that a so painful conflict did not leave some obvious memories…. Your exposition at least was telling about this past.
I have been working for the international red cross, in Colombia, in the nineties. Because I was always felt that something was to be done for the situations of injustice, for the ones who payes the heaviest price in the war, the civils, women and children. As it showm on your photos.
Sadly, the situation in Kirguikistan seems to tell us the pain and injustices of violent conflicts will never end.
And maybe the question to be asked is not anymore why a man pull a trigger … because there is always a man pulling a trigger, causing infinite pain and sorrow…
We must no forget this… there should be always somebody
to denounce those facts… as the photografers for example…
I simply needed to thank you so much again. I’m not certain the things that I could possibly have gone through without these tips and hints revealed by you concerning such subject. It had become an absolute horrifying difficulty in my opinion, but understanding a expert fashion you resolved that took me to jump over happiness. I am just thankful for the service and thus pray you find out what an amazing job you happen to be carrying out teaching others all through your web site. I am certain you haven’t come across all of us.
